Writing Intensive Courses and Civic Engagement
As part of this commitment to prepare our students to become future teachers, the
college incorporates Writing Intensive Courses (WIC) and participating in Civic Engagement (CE) directly into the graduation requirements,. The Education Program facilitates
a smooth fulfillment of these requirements by integrating them directly into the coursework.
In each of the majors, a number of classes are designated writing intensive. Our professors
also maintain partnerships with a variety of organizations to create civic engagement
opportunities at sites such as edible gardens, soup kitchens, nursing homes, and art
galleries.
The course of study is Sequential. Students MUST see an adviser before registering.
Education students must complete required courses in the CUNY Common Core (e.g. math,
English, etc.). In addition, the education courses listed below must be taken for
each major.
See the Kingsborough College Catalog, found here, for further information.
