Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation

We offer degrees in three different academic majors:

Community Health
Associate of Science Degree (A.S.)

The mission of the Community Health Program is to provide students with a foundation for diverse careers in health promotion, disease prevention, health care administration, and health education. The program is designed for transfer to baccalaureate programs within CUNY and to private institutions. Community Health majors can choose from the following concentrations in the field:

Exercise Science
Associate of Science Degree (A.S.)

The mission of the Exercise Science/Personal Training Program is to provide students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, abilities and values that are essential for competency and success as a professional in the personal training field and for upper division baccalaureate study in exercise science.

Physical Education, Recreation, and Recreational Therapy
Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.)

The mission of the Physical Education Program is to prepare students for occupations in athletics, sports management, or therapeutic recreation. The program offers the following concentrations, which are designed for transfer to baccalaureate programs within CUNY and to private institutions:
