Brooklyn Museum Fall Internship
As a Brooklyn Museum intern, you’ll join a dynamic group of emerging arts professionals
to re-envision the future of museums while gaining workplace skills through hands-on,
real-world projects. Selected interns will be paired with a supervisor and integrated
into one of the museum’s departments, participating fully in day-to-day workplace
activities and projects with the guidance of full-time staff members. In addition
to gaining extensive work experience, interns will also attend seminars that focus
on the role of museums in society today and include intimate conversations with Museum
staff. Seminars include intimate conversations with Brooklyn Museum curators, conservators,
educators, and collection and exhibition specialists, as well as invited artists and
outside experts. Interns also visit local museums and other cultural institutions.
Pay Rate: $17/hr.

The Whitney Museum of American Art Fall Internship
The Whitney's Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship to undergraduate
students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program. If you are a college
student interested in learning more about how museums work or are considering a museum
career, we encourage you to apply. Interns are assigned to specific departments across
the Museum where they assist professional staff, interact with the public, conduct
research, provide administrative support, and learn about modern and contemporary
American art. For Fall 2024, interns commit between 16–21 hours per week over 10–12
weeks for a total of 200 hours.
Pay rate: $3,000 Stipend

The Office of the Brooklyn Borough President Fall Internship
The Brooklyn Borough President’s Office is looking for a highly motivated Communications intern, a Community Boards intern, and an Intergovernmental Affairs and Appointments intern. Some requirements for these positions are excellent verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize duties and knowledge of New York City’s policy landscape, and Brooklyn and interest in its neighborhoods/communities a plus. The work schedule is flexible based on the candidate’s schedule.

HRTP: A Public Health Fall Internship Program
One of the oldest and largest public health traineeships in the country, the NYC Health Department Health Research Training Program (HRTP) provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to experience some of the real-life challenges of public health. By working on current public health issues under the close supervision and mentorship of experienced professionals, students apply classroom learning to practical problems in a closely matched practicum. In the process, they learn critical skills needed to excel in the field.

Student Intern Program at the Department of Civil Service
The New New York Leaders Student Intern Program provides college students with the
unique opportunity to work in state government where they receive valuable hands-on
program experience and are introduced to the value of a career in public service.
The Student Intern Program welcomes applications from undergraduate and graduate students
at colleges and universities throughout New York State. Each intern works in a particular
area within a New York State executive branch agency or department and has opportunities
to gain valuable experience, interact with government leaders and policymakers, and
perform rewarding and meaningful work.

Metropolitan Museum of Art Spring Internship
The Museum offers internship opportunities for college students interested in careers
in art museums. Join a community of interns to gain professional skills and learn
about museum practice. The Met has over forty department areas that host interns from
a wide variety of academic backgrounds. For example, students majoring in computer
science might apply to intern in the Digital or Information Systems & Technology departments.
Engineering students might be interested in the Buildings and Construction Department.
Art history and other humanities students gain valuable experience in curatorial departments,
as well as Editorial, Education, and Development. Studio art, design, or photography
majors have thrived in areas like Digital, Design, or Imaging. The Department of Scientific
Research welcomes students with a strong background in science.

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)

a paid internship? By participating in New York State’s Clean Energy Internship Program,
you will gain hands-on experience in the growing clean energy sector as either a part-time
or full-time paid intern in one of many potential roles. New York State Energy Research
and Development Authority has ongoing internship opportunities. NYSERDA is helping
prepare the next generation of clean energy workers by funding internships for students
and recent graduates at New York State’s clean energy companies through the New York
State Clean Energy Internship Program.

The Borgen Project Internship
The Borgen Project have several internship and volunteer openings that may be of interest
to you, these range from HR, PR/Marketing to writing and journalism. All internship
and volunteer programs provide experience in advocacy, mobilizing and fundraising,
coupled with real industry exposure and an insight into the nonprofit world. Borgen
Project remote internships are work from home roles, weekly deadlines must be met,
meetings will be held online and a weekly update of your progress submitted.

The Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program is a team of dedicated professionals focused on providing individuals with meaningful college experience, relationships and life. Currently, we are establishing a team of devoted college student mentors to provide support to students with intellectual disabilities. College Mentors will provide academic, internship, community and social supports to students enrolled in Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program.
Mentors are thoroughly trained and supervised by our program coordinator and are involved in a variety of activities with our students.
