Department of English
Literary Studies
The English Department offers a wide range of literature courses to meet the interests of Kingsborough's students. These courses are lively, stimulating, and challenging; you will enjoy the excitement of reading and discussing some of the best writing ever. You will learn about culture, history, and human life. Through the student of literature, you will become more open-minded, more insightful; and your reading ability and powers of critical thinking and, actually, your understanding of the world will grow.
Literature courses have long been a cornerstone of a liberal arts education. If you are a Liberal Arts major, we especially encourage you to take one of the courses listed below. If you are interested, Liberal Arts majors can now graduate with a Concentration in Literary Studies.
The courses below may be taken by any Kingsborough student who has passed the first semester of Freshman English.
