Kingsborough Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The Nursing Education Program is approved by the New York State Education Department. The graduate receives an Associate in Applied Science Degree and is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The Nursing Program at Kingsborough Community College meets the state education requirements for a Registered Professional Nursing license in the state of New York. Kingsborough Community College has not determined if the nursing program at Kingsborough Community College meets the state education requirements in any other state, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia.
New Nursing Admission Eligibility Requirements
To be admitted or advance into a NYSED-approved nursing program in fall 2020 and beyond,
students must provide documentation for one of the categories listed in the link below. Namely, applicants may demonstrate eligibility through documents that verify that
they:
1) are U.S. citizens,
2) have legal permanent resident status, or
3) are in another eligible category set forth in the policy, generally through presentation
