Welcome back KCC students! As we welcome back students on campus and online, Student Life is here for you! Enjoy Student Life’s hybrid programming with virtual events and on-campus events that follow CUNY and CDC guidelines! Whether you are taking classes in-person or online, Student Life has a variety of safe and engaging events, giveaways, and opportunities to build community at Kingsborough.

Pay Us for Our Labor: Empowering Women to be Unapologetic Leaders 
Open to all genders, this workshop will explore how women over-exert themselves in a society that demands their emotional, mental, physical, and professional labor without equity. In this discussion led by Raquel Torres, Assistant Director of Student Life, students will identify how to reclaim agency and power through embracing their multiple identifies, advocating for inclusion and equity, practicing boundaries and assertion, and being absolutely unapologetic.

Unbought
 The music theatre piece Unbought presents the dramatic stories of three African American women: Ida B. Wells, journalist and women’s suffrage activist, Sally Hemmings, an advocate for emancipation who survived enslavement by Thomas Jefferson, and Shirley Chisolm, the first African American in the U.S. Congress and the first African American woman to run for President. The music is drawn from classical, jazz, and popular works by African American women composers.
