Loretta Brancaccio-Taras, Biological SciencesUsing the methodology introduced in Winter 2007 by Joan Middendorf, the Decoding theDisciplines faculty interest group, led by Loretta Brancaccio-Taras (Biological Sciences) and Marissa Schlesinger (Art), will grapple with the idea of "expert thinking" within disciplines and how we can teach our students to think like experts. At each meeting, one or two participants will be interviewed by the others in order to articulate how they, as experts, approach and understand issues that often lead to student "bottlenecks."
