Leading with Purpose; From Passion to Action
April 28th – April 30th

This series of leadership development sessions is designed to empower emerging leaders to lead with intention, clarity, and impact. Participants will engage in thought-provoking workshops that explore the psychology of influence, the process of transforming passion into purposeful action, and the skills required to drive meaningful change. Each session offers practical strategies to help individuals gain support for their vision, overcome internal barriers, and translate influence into lasting results. Together, these experiences will equip students with the confidence and tools needed to become purpose-driven leaders.

Attend 2 or more days for a special Certificate of Participation!

Week Overview:

Day 1: Monday, April 28th, 12:30 PM – 2 PM / In the COVE (U-101A)

The Follow Factor – How to Build a Vision That Others Will Follow w/ Geo Derice

Leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about influence. The best leaders don’t force people to follow them; they inspire them to take action. The Follow Factor will teach students how to gain buy-in, rally support, and build momentum behind their ideas so they can lead with confidence. This interactive session will break down the psychology of influence and provide a step-by-step framework for getting others to believe in and support their vision.

Day 2: Tuesday, April 29th, 2:30 PM – 4 PM / In the COVE (U-101A)

Getting Out of Your Head and Into Your Purpose w/ Lavar Thomas (KCC Alum)

You have a passion—but what’s stopping you from turning it into action? Overthinking? Fear? Uncertainty? It’s time to break free.

Join us for an interactive, high-energy workshop designed to help you move past doubt, step into your purpose, and start making an impact. Through engaging activities, real-world strategies, and practical action steps, you’ll leave with the confidence and clarity to turn your passion into a purpose-driven path.

Day 3: Wednesday, April 30th, 12 PM – 1:30 PM / In the COVE (U-101A)

Being A REAL Influencer – How to Turn Your Influence into Real Impact w/ Geo Derice

Getting people to follow you is just the beginning—real influence comes from what you do with that following. This session is about transforming influence into action, learning how to advocate for your ideas, negotiate for resources, and turn leadership potential into tangible change. If you want to make a difference, get funding, and create lasting impact, this session will show you exactly how to do it.
