Picture This: Scholarships Available For KCC Photography Students
Brooklyn, NY — The Joy of Giving Something (JGS) has granted Kingsborough Community College (KCC) $10,000 in scholarship money to be awarded to KCC students through June 2023. To qualify, students must have a 2.5 GPA and either be a declared fine arts major with a concentration in photography or be enrolled in either Photography II or Photojournalism. Applicants will need to write a one-page essay on why photography is important to them and how the scholarship will help in their study of photography. Joy of Giving Something is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the photographic arts and advancing the arts in education. Working in partnership with museums, schools, and community organizations across the country, JGS established scholarships to support students pursuing post-secondary studies in photography or media art. Kingsborough joins such organizations the Harlem School of the Arts, ICP Teen Academy, PAL Project/Syracuse University, and The Studio Museum in Harlem’s Expanding The Walls program in granting a JGS scholarship.
