As Climate Week NYC (Sept. 20-27) comes to a close, President Suri Duitch and Waterfront Alliance CEO Julie Raskin make the case in today’s Daily News that investing in the city’s efforts to remake its waterfront is not only smart climate policy but also a workforce development opportunity to expand local maritime career pathways like those offered at Kingsborough.

In it, they write:

“These on-water climate jobs are as important as jobs at venture-backed climate tech start-ups. It is time to view them and the maritime industry and working waterfront they support as an integral part of the city’s workforce and climate future.”
