We offer learning opportunities through career and professional development for individuals who want to gain the skills and certifications necessary for employment and/or career advancement.

Kingsborough is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings and Department of Transportation as an educational provider offering courses in OSHA and Site Safety, among others. We also offer courses in Welding, Building Weatherization and Maritime Technology.

This is a free program for fathers who wish to earn their GED and/or prepare for college enrollment. Students receive metrocards, stipends, mentoring and access to fun family events.

This training program will prepare students for the New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) examination. EMTs primarily perform emergency and transport ambulance work in the private, municipal, and hospital ambulance sectors.

ESL courses include virtual, on-campus and hybrid instruction schedule options, as well as additional ESL courses that are contextualized for food service industry certification.

The Healthcare Institute offers certificate programs and courses for people wishing to work in healthcare. Classes prepare students for certifying exams with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Prometric, or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).

Certified by the New York State Education Department, these courses help students prepare for and pass the GED Exam.  We offer various schedules to choose from including comprehensive, subject-specific and Spanish exams.

Kingsborough offers a variety of courses that provide individuals with the opportunity to learn a new skill, explore interests, improve and enrich themselves in an area, or engage in activities that foster personal growth and well-being or to meet new people with shared interests.

Continuing Education students are now eligible for New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) grants and can be awarded up to $5,665. Students must meet specific eligibility requirements and must be enrolled in one of our 4 approved programs.

Kingsborough offers a variety of free workforce training programs across multiple industries. Each program is unique and has its own eligibility and completion requirements. Our portfolio of programs is constantly changing, so check back often to see what is available.

Youth Programs.

We have partnered with 3^rdparty educational providers such as Ed2Go, the CE Shop and others so we can offer a wider array of classes that meet the needs of our students and community.

Kingsborough’s 50+ Wellness Program is an exclusive program for individuals age 50 years or older, looking to engage in lifelong learning opportunities. Our 50+ courses are designed to provide social connections, cognitive and physical improvements, and skill enhancements.
