FLEX Programs of Study
KCC FLEX degrees can be completed fully online or on-campus in any combination: daytime,
evenings and weekends.
The following FLEX degrees are currently available:
ASSOCIATE OF ARTS (A.A.) DEGREES
Criminal Justice
A jointly registered dual enrollment degree program with John Jay College of Criminal Justice, our criminal justice courses introduce the history, function and role of the criminal
justice system. Those who successfully complete the coursework can seamlessly transfer
to John Jay College to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Liberal Arts
Offering a taste of the arts, humanities, social sciences, history, and politics,
a liberal arts education will provide you with a solid, well-rounded foundation and
the tools for a lifetime of learning. You’ll learn to think for yourself and better
understand the world around you.
ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE (A.S.) DEGREES
Accounting
You’ll learn the "language of business," and how to track and communicate the financial
health of a business through financial reports and data. Master the basics of accounting,
including how to prepare journal entries and various financial statements, how to
identify current federal income tax laws and regulations, and how to apply financial
information to managerial decision making.
Business Administration
Master the basics of marketing, accounting, finance and investment, and human resources
– the cornerstones to any business.
Chemical Dependency Counseling
Certificate in Alcoholism and Substance Counseling
Prepare for a job in a growing field, where you can make a difference in your community
and change lives. Through internships, you will be able to earn up to one of the required
three years of clinical work experience needed for CASAC (Certified Alcohol and Substance
Abuse Counseling) credentials.
Community Health
Gain the foundation for diverse careers in health promotion, disease prevention, health
care administration, and health education. Concentrations are available in gerontology;
health education and promotion; and health services administration.
ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (A.A.S.) DEGREES
Business of Fashion
This degree combines fashion studies with business courses to prepare you to be part
of a team that get fashion to market. Hands-on projects and field experience give
you a first-hand look at a variety of jobs available in the fashion business world
Tourism and Hospitality
If you have interests in travel, cultural exploration, or customer service, we offer
three concentrations to help you develop the skills and knowledge you’ll need to be
successful in one of the fastest growing industries in the world: food & beverage
management, hotel management, or tourism. Should you want to continue for your bachelor’s
degree, the program offers articulation agreements with many colleges and universities
that ensure all KCC tourism credits will be accepted.
