NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS SITE SAFETY TRAINING
Kingsborough Community College is a New York City Department of Buildings approved Site Safety Training (SST) Provider. Approver ID# 3B34.
Courses offered in English.
SST and SST-Supervisor cards are printed on campus. The cost of the cards is included in the total tuition cost. Cards will be issued when all requirements are met as prescribed by the DOB.
With a valid OSHA 30 card you have the option of taking only the courses you need to receive the SST card.
At this time, these courses are offered through contract training to groups only. These courses can be offered on site at Kingsborough Community College or at the partner's location if equipment and facilities meet the NYC DOB code. Time/date is scheduled based on partners' needs. VTT 23 - 30-Hour OSHA Construction
To maintain a healthy and safe work environment, OSHA requires employees in various industries to participate in workplace safety training. See the benefits of instructor lead training in our 30-hour OSHA safety course that will address specific regulations as they apply to the General Industry and help you meet your workplace training requirements in an interactive setting with peers and your professor. The OSHA training program for general industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. The program will also provide information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. |
VTT 24 - 10-Hour Site Safety TrainingThis course is for workers who want to work on construction sites need to complete 10-Hour Site Safety Training (SST). This training is required for workers who already have a valid OSHA 30-hour card. VTT 27 - 4-Hour Supported Scaffold UserThe 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher course prepares workers to recognize and avoid a wide range of safety hazards associated with supported scaffold use. You’ll learn about the importance of safety controls, fall prevention equipment, inspections and emergency planning. |
VTT 26 - Site Safety Supervisor (SST)VTT-26: Site Safety Supervisor (SST) training is a safety training program for construction supervisors in New York City . The training is required by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) to improve safety standards and reduce accidents. Local Law 196 of 2017, requires Supervisors at job sites requiring a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 62 hours of Site Safety Training (SST). 32- Hours SST Supervisor includes:

30 Hour Concrete Safety ManagerA Concrete Safety Manager (CSM) must be designated on all major buildings in New York City (NYC) where 2000 cubic yards or more of concrete will be placed on an entire project. CSMs must have completed this 30-Hour Concrete Safety Manager course within 5 years before applying for the license. Topics:

8 Hour Master and Special Electrical RenewalThis course is a requirement for all Master and Special Electricians to maintain his/her license to work in New York City. NYC Requirement: To renew a NYC Master or Special Electrical License or maintain current under a deactivated license, the applicant must complete this course and submit a certificate of completion to the Licensing Unit as mandated by NYC Administrative Code 27-3015, 1 RCNY §104-06 Continuing Education &§105-03 Department Approved Courses. |
7 Hour Master Plumber & Master Fire SuppressionTo renew a New York City (NYC) Master Plumber or Fire Suppression Piping Contractor license, the applicant must complete this course and submit a certificate of completion to the Department of Buildings (DOB) Licensing Unit for 7 hours of training as mandated by Title 1 of the Rules of the City of NY §104-06 regarding continuing education requirements. 7 Hour Periodic Gas Piping Inspector QualificationThis course is required by the New York City (NYC) Department of Buildings (DOB) for anyone who will be performing periodic inspections of gas piping systems under the direct and continuing supervision of a Licensed Master Plumber. An applicant for this qualification must take this training course as mandated by the Rules of the DOB and submit a Certificate of Completion to the Licensing Unit. Topics:

16 Hour Limited Gas Work QualificationThis course is required for all workers who will be working on gas piping for a licensed plumber. Workers must be able to demonstrate competence with gas work by completing this training. After completing this course, a certificate verifying the training must be submitted by the student to the New York City (NYC) Department of Buildings (DOB) licensing division. Certified Welding - Introductory Training
With a hands-on approach, this Introduction to Welding with the AWS Welding Fundamentals program, you will gain a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of welding. You will learn the basic science and practical application of the most commonly utilized welding processes along with other essential topics.
At the end of the course, you will understand the fundamentals of equipment used in MIG welding, TIG welding, and arc welding, including welding and cutting safety and cutting, basic arc welding processes. You will be prepared to become a certified AWS welder! All supplies, gear, tuition and materials are included!
Test to become an American Welding Society Certified Welder
18+ years or older; High School Diploma or Equivalency; Possess proficiency in English
(reading, writing, and speaking skills) and must be able to commit to and attend all
classes at the Kingsborough Community College campus in order to participate in the
