How to Secure a Beach Pass: Summer 2026

To secure a Kingsborough Community College Beach pass, visitors must:

    • Apply by visiting Kingsborough’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA), Room M243, Mondays 10 am to 5 pm, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 am to 3 pm. Visitors must complete an application and provide valid photo identification. All requests for passes must be made in person.
    • After the paperwork is completed, passes may be picked up at M243 on Thursdays 11am- 4:30 pm. Please note that valid photo identification will be required when picking up a pass.

    • Parking: Once a beach pass is obtained, the pass holder may purchase their parking permit at the KCC Bursar’s Office, Room A205.


Restrictions

The beach pass is non-transferable and only permits beach access to those whose name(s) appear on it. Each beach pass allows beach access to a maximum of four (4) people, including the beach pass holder(s). A parking permit is required to park on campus. (Please refer to the attached Beach Parking Letter for additional information.) Permit parking is provided, on a space-available basis, weekends after 11am.

Please be advised that Kingsborough Community College is NOT responsible for beach closures and/ or schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances and/or campus events. Note: beach parking fees are NOT refundable under any circumstances.  For information on beach hours and availability, please call the Public Safety Office (718) 368-5069.

Beach Schedule

The beach will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning Monday, May 25, 2026, through Monday, September 7, 2026, in accordance with the schedule below. Memorial Day and Labor Day are the only exceptions to the Saturday–Sunday schedule; the beach will also be open on both holidays. (Note: The beach and campus are closed on Fridays during the beach season)

Entry Procedure 

  • Visitors must present a Kingsborough Community College Beach Pass to gain entry to the campus and access the beach. To secure a beach pass, they must submit required paperwork at Kingsborough’s Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA), Room M243. The office accepts applications Mondays 10 am to 5pm and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 am to 3 pm. After the paperwork is completed, passes may be picked up at M243 on Thursdays 11am- 4:30 pm. (Note: Once a beach pass is obtained, a beach goer may purchase their parking permit at the KCC Bursar’s Office, Room A205)
  • Only bring eligible guests as indicated, and ensure all guests have valid photo IDs. 
  • Ensure that guests are prepared to sign liability waivers. 
  • USE ONLY THE DESIGNATED ROUTE TO THE BEACH: Under no circumstances should individuals walk through the buildings to the beach area. Pedestrian access must be gained by following the path alongside the baseball field and continuing south until you reach the beach.

Parking

Parking permits can be purchased at Bursar, located in Room A205, from Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 5 PM. There are two parking permit options available for purchase at the Bursar Office:

Season Parking Permit
Color: Canary (yellow)
Cost: $600.00 Valid for: Entire beach season

Please note: This permit is non‑refundable and non‑transferable.

Daily Parking Booklet
Includes: Ten (10) single‑use parking slips
Color: Mint green
Cost: $200.00
Valid for: Use throughout the beach season

Please note: This booklet is non‑refundable and non‑transferable.

Each daily parking slip is valid for one use only and will be collected and voided by the gate officer upon entry

 

  • Parking is BY PERMIT ONLY AFTER 11 AM, in designated areas only
  • Proceed to the Oriental Boulevard gate for parking instructions 
  • Discharging of passengers should only be done when the vehicle is parked in an official parking space
  • Crossing or parking at the patio terrace is prohibited

Lockers

  • Lockers are available at your own risk
  • Do not store valuables or currency in lockers
  • Padlock required
  • Padlocks and personal items must be removed daily

Water Safety

  • Swim within your capability
  • Obey lifeguards
  • Closely supervise children and non-swimmers
  • No horseplay in water permitted
  • Do not throw objects in or about the water
  • Swimming on or near rocks or rock jetties is strictly prohibited

 

Intoxicants

  • STRICTLY PROHIBITED (This includes ALL alcoholic beverages)

Ball playing

  • No throwing of objects permitted on beach, patio or in water
  • No ball playing allowed
  • Entry to the Ball Field is strictly prohibited

Clothing

 

  • Footwear, shirts and/or cover-ups are required in all areas, particularly in the These items are not required on the beach

Children

 

  • CLOSELY SUPERVISE CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES
  • A parent or guardian must escort minor children
  • Parents are responsible for damages caused by their children
  • As a courtesy to others please keep children clothed at all times (including outdoor showers)

Furniture

 

  • Folding beach furniture and umbrellas are permitted
  • College tables are for dining and not for game-playing
  • PATIO FURNITURE MAY NOT BE MOVED TO BEACH OR GRASS

Restrictions

 

  • Use only the beach lockers and beach restrooms
  • Touring the college or use of its other facilities is not authorized
  • Roped-off beach patio dining area is available ONLY to faculty, staff and students (this will be strictly enforced).
  • Bicycles, strollers and beach chairs should not be brought through the buildings (use only designated route to beach)
