Biography
Deborah Hyland, MA, RN, is an instructor of Nursing at CUNY Kingsborough Community College. She currently serves on the Nursing Curriculum Committee, Faculty Development Committee, APR Committee, and NLN Standard IV sub-committee. She is also an advisor to the Nursing Club. Campus wide, she is Vice-Chair of the IRB Committee and serves on the Bookstore Committee. Ms. Hyland’s interest is medical – surgical nursing, especially emergency nursing. She previously taught nursing for Curtis High School, Staten Island. This was a N.Y.C. Board of Education program which prepared Licensed Practical Nurses. She also taught at St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing , an Associate Degree program which prepared registered nurses. Ms. Hyland has had various nursing positions in a large, suburban hospital, including fifteen years in a Level I trauma/emergency department.
