KCTL KCC Mentoring Program

Think you don’t want a mentor? Think again!

"Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living—if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor."  Denzel Washington

mentorMost successful people can attribute their success, in part, to a mentor.  This includes people in business, music, sports—people in pretty much any career you can imagine!

So what is a mentor?

Think of a mentor as a guide or coach—someone with a bit more experience who can help you navigate your way. Mentoring often starts long before you enter your chosen career. In fact, you may already have someone in your life that you consider to be a mentor.  Or maybe you're looking for one!

Kingsborough offers a mentoring program that matches faculty and staff to students who would like a little guidance as they move through college and toward their careers. In the mentoring relationship, students set goals and talk with mentors regularly as they make progress toward achieving those goals.mentor
