TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Kingsborough Community College, in partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) and the Mayor's Office for Media and Entertainment (MOME), will offer the Made in NY Media Academy Content Creator Bootcamp Training Program. This program will prepare participants for employment in entry-level media, journalism, and content creation roles through industry-aligned training and job placement support.
Participants who complete the program will:
- Demonstrate foundational journalism and reporting skills
- Produce publishable digital and social media content
- Understand the business and employment landscape of media and entertainment
- Develop a professional portfolio aligned with employer expectations
- Complete the MediaMKRS Work Readiness Program
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from Kingsborough Community College.

Mock Interviews, Pitch Practice
Placement Support (3 Months Post-Training)
Employer Connections in Media/Communications
PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY
Participants must:
- Be a NYC resident
- Be 18+ years old
- Be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Be Selective Service compliant (if applicable)
- Have high school diploma or HSE
- Have annual income less than $60,000 (if employed)
- Provide documentation for all eligibility criteria
- Show commitment to working in the digital media field
- Show commitment to traveling to Kingsborough Community College for in person training
- Commitment to training schedule on campus/in person
- No more than 3 unexcused absences
