1. Do I need to make an appointment?
Tutoring is provided on a walk-in, first-come, first-serve basis. No appointment is necessary.

  2. Is tutoring offered individually or in a group setting?
The workshop tutoring model supports both individual and small group sessions, depending on student need.  In individual workshop sessions, the tutor will usually work with a student 15 20 minutes before going to work with other students and then returning to the student. In small group workshop tutoring, students from the same class are grouped and placed at the same table to work collaboratively with one tutor.

  3. Who can get help?
Only CURRENTLY ENROLLED KCC students registered in a math or computer science class or a class with a math component for the current semester.

  4. Do you offer tutoring during finals?
Yes! CMAT is open during finals. Please contact the office.

  5. Does CMAT tutor students with disabilities?
Yes! We assist the entire student population. CMAT is also equipped with ADA approved desks to accommodate persons with wheelchairs.  We work collaboratively with the office of AccessAbility Services to better serve students with documented disabilities.

  6. How long can I stay in CMAT?
Students are welcome to stay in CMAT and study as long as needed. However, a tutor will not be able to sit with them the entire time. They can ask questions of the tutors as the need arises.  Students who have already been helped must be respectful and considerate of those waiting to be tutored for the first time.
